"In the calm waters of Greenland, gigantic icebergs dwarf everything around them. Over the course of hundreds of years, these behemoths have grown into their own unique shape and size. The natural beauty of the icebergs, some the size of a 15 storey building, was captured by American photographer Michael J Quinn, 49, on a three day expedition in Scoresby Sund, Eastern Greenland. ‘Nothing prepares you for the scale of this place and the scale of the ice,’ says Michael, of Fort Collins, Colorado."

Banksy transformed a nature scene on a painting bought from a thrift shop into a high-priced work of art with his addition of a Nazi officer looking at the lake. He then re-donated it to the thrift shop.

"Photographer Thomas Marent captured the startling transformation of a cicada as it emerges from its larva shell before unfurling its long veiny wings to dry them out. Lying beneath the earth for up to 17 years, cicadas venture above ground to shed their larva shells, sprout wings and sing for a mate.In this case, the cicada - still within its shell - finds a strong enough leaf support its weight."

Cicadas can live up to 17 years?! Mind = blown.

"A ladybug flies through the air on the back of a dandelion-stalk broomstick. Young photographer Jagoda Cholacinska, 19, captured the charming scene in a poppy field near her home in Poland."Incredible shot. Something you’d see in a Pixar movie.

"Already known for his silly behaviour, Conan the giraffe is a regular culprit for photo bombing at Six Flags Adventure Land, New Jersey, USA. Deirdre Mead and Jonathan Itskov were at Six Flags celebrating Deirdre’s birthday but had no idea they would get the picture of a lifetime as a special birthday treat."Ultimate giraffe photobomb.

"A lion stuck in a tree gets a bit of help from his elder brother. The lion in the tree had climbed into the tree in search of some shade but was forced to yelp for help when he found himself unable to get down. Luckily his big brother was on hand to help. The two lions, named Echo and Etosha, are residents of Antelope Park in Zimbabwe."He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.

Thomas Havel takes in the stunning scenery while sitting on the ‘Troll’s Tongue’ - an overhanging ledge with a 2,300ft drop below. Thomas, from Czech Republic, spent five hours trekking up to the Norwegian precipice called Trolltunga which juts out above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. Once there, the 18-year-old daredevil inched his way to the edge before peering down at the vertigo-inducing drop.
